Backend and APIs
I build .NET services and APIs that connect applications, data, and external systems. My focus includes data modelling with Entity Framework Core, authentication, integrations, and real-time communication.
Behind Devexus
Software developer focused on practical, maintainable applications.
I turn repetitive and fragmented workflows into software that is clear, reliable, and straightforward to operate.
I’m Stefan, the developer behind Devexus. I primarily work with C# and the .NET ecosystem, building backend services, web applications, Windows utilities, and automation tools.
I enjoy working across the application—from the way data is stored to the interface people use and the infrastructure that keeps it running. The goal is always to make the software useful and manageable.
Development focus
Different kinds of applications, connected by a practical approach to solving problems.
I build .NET services and APIs that connect applications, data, and external systems. My focus includes data modelling with Entity Framework Core, authentication, integrations, and real-time communication.
I use Blazor for interactive web interfaces and Astro for static, content-driven sites. I aim for clear navigation, useful feedback, and interfaces that make the underlying workflow easier to understand.
I create Windows utilities with WinForms and automate browser workflows with Playwright. From media tools to everyday helpers, I enjoy removing repetitive steps and giving users more control over their tasks.
I work with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and application orchestration to make builds and deployments repeatable. Portability, observability, and manageable operational requirements are part of how I approach a project.
Tools and experience
A selection of the technologies I work with, with experience levels where documented.
Working principles
A few principles guide my choices, whether I’m building a small utility or a service with several moving parts.
Prefer clear responsibilities and straightforward solutions over accidental complexity.
Consider the workflow, data, and deployment environment before choosing a technology.
Document decisions, limitations, and project status so the next step is easier to understand.
Leave room to maintain, extend, and move an application as its requirements change.
Treat deployment and documentation as parts of the product, not separate afterthoughts.
The workspace
Devexus is my public developer workspace: a place to share applications, document experiments, and keep a clear record of work in progress. It brings project descriptions, technology choices, screenshots, available downloads, and future ideas together in one place.
Not everything here is finished, and that is intentional. Project statuses make the distinction visible, while the Now page provides a snapshot of active work and upcoming ideas.
The site itself is statically generated with Astro. Content is validated at build time, then packaged through GitLab CI into a Docker image served by Nginx. Client-side JavaScript is reserved for enhancements such as themes, filtering, and screenshot previews.
